Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February of 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing from job to job throughout Corcoran's youth. Sometimes, the family relied on deliveries of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who drank sometimes and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
